The ideal time to photograph your maternity portraits is at the beginning of your third trimester. I offer limited sessions each month and sessions tend to fill up fast. We photograph portraits during the weekday Monday-Friday from 1 hour before sunrise to 1 hour after sunset. We have some weekend appointments available, but there is a $100 additional session fee. What to Wear For Your Maternity Photography Session?

Your photographs will look best if you are comfortable and feel beautiful in your outfit. Choose a simple dress, sweater or jumper that shows your “bump” and makes you feel beautiful. Sometimes a high waistband will give you the “look” of a waist right above the “baby bump”. Most photographs look best if you choose a white, pastel or light color without a bold pattern. Don’t choose clothing that will distract the eye from the beauty of your maternity figure. Also try to choose classic styles that will look good years from now when trends have changed. Your makeup, nails and jewelry should never steal the show. Keep them classic and subtle so that you look and feel beautiful and they also do not distract from the mood of the photograph.
Another idea to save you money is to rent a dress for your maternity photo shoot. If you search online you’ll see many options for renting the ideal maternity dress for your shoot. For instance, https://mamabumprentals.com/, https://www.minefornine.com/, https://www.renttherunway.com/maternity, and https://labellebump.com/ all have wonderful options.

Best Places for Maternity Photography in Texas

Texas is a huge state, and has so much diverse topography from sunny coastlines, flat grazing land, to rough mountainous terrain and from small towns to huge cities. Pictures are very personal and maternity photos are particularly effective in conveying the love that a mother has for her unborn child, the hope and future bright with caring. Photo locations should reflect the mother’s joy, and the background should compliment and not overwhelm the precious subject matter. You might choose to use your own nursery as a backdrop, your Texas team spirit, your favorite market, the arms of your partner, a beautiful field full of flowers or sunshine, different angles, underwater, surrounded by puppies, being hugged by your older children….the posibilities for maternity photo shoots in Texas are as enourmous as your imagination. In our studio we can replicate your dream background. Discuss the posibilities with us!

What People Say Regarding Maternity Photography?

I am more than satisfied with my maternity and newborn photographs. Natalie and Nick made us feel really comfortable during each of our sessions and they gave us clear instructions for the poses. They were professional and I felt comfortable. This allowed me to really relax and enjoy the photo session, and I think this ease was reflected in the final photos.
Our photo package included digital copies of all the images from our sessions, so I didn’t have to choose a set number of images to keep.
The whole maternity photo shoot was fun, and I’ll have these phenomenal photos to remind me of my pregnancy, and the myriad of emotions I felt throughout the experience. I would recommend Natalie Roberson Photography for anyone considering maternity photography in the area.
