What People say about Natalie Roberson as a Senior Portrait Photographer?

“Natalie listened to all my suggestions and she worked with me to create exactly what I wanted for my senior portrait photographs. Natalie and I discussed how much editing she would do to the images because I didn’t want to look too “plastic”. She helped me choose the perfect background and even consulted with me on what to wear for the perfect effect. I used my senior portrait photo on my graduation announcements and I couldn’t be more proud of the result.

“You might be dreading your senior portrait photography session, but I literally had a wonderful day with Natalie Roberson! We actually used the beautiful field behind her studio for the background, and she even had a hair and makeup artist help with my look – which held up even in the Texas heat! Natalie even helped style my outfits and accessories! She accounted for every detail, and she went above and beyond my expectations. My senior photo shoot was amazing, and I am so very pleased with the results!”

Frequently Asked Questions

Letterman jackets, anything sports, band or academic-related can be worn. You can wear your school uniform, or a tux, or a t-shirt or a sports uniform, dance wear, formal wear or whatever you like. Options are limitless! Our senior portrait photographer allows wardrobe changes between your senior sessions as well. We have a pop-up tent that we can bring if we go on location. We recommend 1 dressy outfit, 1 casual outfit, 1 hobby related outfit (sports, band, etc) and lastly a college t-shirt and jeans. The more outfit choices you bring, the more choices you’ll have when creating custom wall art and albums. For more ideas on what to wear, check out our Pinterest Board here.

Don’t worry – We have your back! We can refer you to one of DFW’s most talented hair and make-up artists for an additional cost!  She can even come to you before your session!

Your senior portrait photography session will likely take about one to two hours. The amount of time it takes to see the resulting senior portrait photography depends on the time of year. If you book your session early in the summer, you’ll get your photos back sooner than if your session is in the busy after the senior year begins.

Remember, your natural smile always looks better in your senior portrait photography than your fake smile, so come prepared to relax and have some fun with it. Also, if your senior portrait photographer asks you to lean a certain way or just your shoulder or hip, keep in mind it doesn’t look as dramatic as it feels. As always, watch your posture to make sure you’re not slouching – your senior portrait photographer will help you with this.

You have various options to choose for your senior photography session. It can be at your favorite location, or our studio is the location perfect for photoshoot, with 5,000 sq. ft indoors and 15 acres outdoors. Our modern studio has everything you need from exclusive backgrounds and props to various lighting and editing techniques. We can customize your senior portrait photography session and create unique photographic images.

Although it is not required, it’s best to schedule appointments 2-3 months prior to your session. Our appointments are available for Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm, weekends and holidays bookings require additional session fees. Book with us 3-4 weeks in advance if you need prints or products prior to any date, party, or birthday. Appointments are important as our dates fill up quickly so please plan and check our availability prior to booking.

Generally, our clients spent about $500 to $5,000 for custom portraits. To get everything you want, we book pre-session appointments to discuss your choices and ideas. We will discuss every detail of what you want in your custom portrait during our pre-session consultation appointments.

We always like to start with a consultation for senior portraits. We try to find out a little bit about what you like, what you do for fun, what you want to do after high school, and what you dream about doing someday. Senior portrait photography sessions should be personal and yours can be different from poses and backgrounds that have been done before. If you need a little inspiration for your senior portrait photography shoot in the Dallas area of Texas, with years of experience as a senior portrait photographer, we’ve got some tried and true ideas. Hopefully our list will spark some ideas for your senior portrait photography. Try to remember to put a little bit of your personality into your photo session, and it will be a shot you’ll be proud of for years to come. Our senior portrait photographers recommend the following locations for Texas senior portrait photography sessions:

  • Your high school
  • Your place of work
  • In the City of Dallas – look for interesting architecture like different doorways and alleys, graffiti, ponds, and bridges, or specific places like the Dallas Zoo, or the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, Klyde Warren Park, Thanks-Giving Square, or the Grassy Knoll.
  • Base your background around water sports like boating, fishing, surfing, wakeboarding, or other sailings.
  • Sporting events as a backdrop – school sports, individual sports, and event venues make interesting backgrounds. Some students even choose archery or shooting ranges.
  • Stores, restaurants, libraries, museums, and even coffee shops can make interesting backdrops.
  • The Dallas area has lots of historic places or places unique to the city that can be used, like JFK Memorial Plaza, Nasher Sculpture Center, and the Giant Eye Ball.
  • Whatever you love can be used as a unique background. If you love motorcycles, trains, planes, theater, baking, art, teaching, or whatever you are into, this can be used to provide a unique backdrop for your senior portrait photography.

In natural light, the best time for senior portrait photography is a few hours after sunrise or a few hours before sunset. At this time, the sun is low and shadows create an interesting and flattering atmosphere. Of course, studio photography allows you to choose your session at your convenience.
